Canoe in the Bend - Ac195 - We've pulled over on a large sand bank at a spot where the Suwannee River makes a rather drastic U-turn. You can tell how dark he water is from this picture. The water is actually very clear, it's just dark, about the color of tea. The darkness comes from the decaying leaves up in the Okefenokee Swamp, the drainage of which forms the Suwannee River.
