Beached in a Storm - Ac145a - Open water was not where I wanted to be when this late afternoon thunderstorm blew up, so I paddled into this small lagoon to wait it out. It's really not as bad as it looks. You will notice the shadow of the kayak on the sand. It was still sunny where I was, and the storm was a good distance away, but Florida is the # 1 death by lighting state, and it makes little sense to take an unnecessary risk. After 45 minutes the storm was gone with nothing but this image to prove it ever existed.
